The 30th anniversary tour of The Steamie saw Tony Roper’s beloved Hogmanay stage play tour to Kirkcaldy, Aberdeen, Dundee, Ayr, Inverness, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Leading West End producer Neil Laidlaw chose The Corner Shop PR Scotland to lead on the anniversary tour’s PR campaign.

The Corner Shop placed features in the run up to the show, handled interview and press ticket requests. The Steamie appeared in print 67 times, including in the Metro, The Guardian’s Guide, Daily Record and The Press and Journal. It also appeared in local press relevant to the tour, including The Stirling Observer, Aberdeen’s Evening Express and Glasgow’s Evening Times (now Glasgow Times).

The Steamie campaign generated 62 online hits across local, national and specialist online press and received 10 broadcast hits, including features on STV Live at Five and BBC Scotland’s Reporting Scotland.

The show was reviewed in print editions of The Courier, The Herald (4*), The Stage (4*), The Scotsman (4*), Aberdeen’s Evening Express, Press and Journal, Daily Record (4*) and Sunday Herald with further online reviews including All Edinburgh Theatre (4*), Southside Advertiser (5*), Glasgowist, Broadway World (3*), Evening Times (5*), The Wee Review (5*), Reviews Hub (5*), The Scottish Stage.

The Corner Shop also successfully worked on The Steamie in 2019 when it performed on Hogmanay at Scotland’s biggest venue, The SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
